Susan O’Strander: Haiti
Susan O’Strander is a missionary serving in Haiti.
She has spent the last four years serving in Northwestern Haiti where she worked to start a program serving children with special needs and their families.
Prior to her mission in Haiti, Susan graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Family and Community Services, and taught preschool for five years.
Susan is excited to apply her previous experience to growing the ministry in her new role and in her new community. She is now working alongside Haiti Children’s Community in Gressier, Haiti.
While there, Susan will be involved with the immediate care of the fifteen children residing in the home, as well as expanding the ministry outside their gates and reaching into the community.
HCC is taking every effort to care for their children to the best of their ability, providing them with education, and raising them in a Christian home. However, it was never their dream to minister only within their walls.
Susan hopes to help them reach their mission of being a beacon of light and a safe place for their community at large. With your help, Susan dreams of not only working in the mission’s pre-school, but also starting a neighborhood nutrition program.
Susan has a heart for helping others and a true calling to serve in Haiti. She is committed to her ministry and also to the relationships that grow along the way, and thanks your support.
